BackgroundThis recombinant SARSCoV2 S1 protein is with the mFc tag. The SARSCoV2 Spike (S) Protein consists of the S1 and S2 domains. The S1 subunit contains the Nterminal domain (NTD) and receptorbinding domain (RBD). The S1 subunit recognizes and binds to angiotensinconverting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors on target cells through the RBD portion, and subsequent conformational changes in S2 allow for fusion between the viral envelope and host cell membrane. SARSCoV2 is closely related to the SARS virus, which was first identified in 200220031.
